Eight Inquiries Regarding Heat Exchangers
1. What does test pressure signify?
The test pressure is the pressure applied during the pressure test at the tube pass and shell pass.

2. Define design temperature.
Design temperature is the set temperature of the element metal during normal operation of the heat exchanger. It is determined by the design load conditions and pressure.

3. How does a heat exchanger facilitate heating?
In a typical wall heat exchanger, heat transfer primarily occurs through conduction and convection. The heat fluid conveys heat to the tube wall through convection, then transfers it from one side of the pipe wall to the other. Finally, the flow is passed to the cold fluid through heat convection, completing the heat transfer process.

4. Impact of medium flow rate on heat transfer effect?
Higher medium flow rates in a heat exchanger result in a greater heat transfer coefficient, significantly improving heat transfer. However, increased flow rates also raise pressure drop and pump energy consumption, necessitating a balance within a certain range.

5. What are the heat transfer methods in heat exchangers?
Heat exchangers utilize three conduction modes: heat conduction, heat convection, and heat radiation.

6. Explain stationary heat transfer and its characteristics.
Stationary heat transfer, in a heat transfer system like a heat exchanger, refers to a process where the temperature distribution remains constant over time. It is characterized by a steady heat transfer rate across the heat transfer surface.

7. Difference between stationary heat conduction on cylindrical and flat walls?
The distinction lies in the varying heat transfer area and temperature with the radius in the case of a cylindrical wall, unlike the constant values in flat walls.

8. Define thermal convection, its categories, and convection heat transfer.
Thermal convection is the heat transfer resulting from the relative displacement of particles in a fluid. It includes forced convection and natural convection. Convection heat transfer is the combined process involving heat convection and heat conduction between the fluid and solid wall.
